Electrical System

The easiest way to upgrade an electrical system is to increase the alternator output and the big three upgrade. The big three upgrade is running a ground wire that is bigger then stock from the engine block to the battery, and one from the body of the car to the battery, and last one from the back of the alternator to the positive on the battery. My car came with a 150 amp stock alternator but then it was enough so I decided to upgrade to a 320 amp Mechman alternator. Mechman is a huge name in car audio alternators and is the best in my opinion. After the higher output alternator you should look at using larger cable or power wire. If you are still energy starved then its time for more batteries or a power capacitor.

A power cap is pretty much the same as a battery just not as effective. I prefer batteries because of the amount of power you can store. Capacitors have a bad habit of blowing up when over charged, and with batteries the only way you can over charge one is if it hits 20 volts and melts. I had a total of 5 extra batteries in my rig but then I decided it was killing my fuel milage to much so Im now only running 3. Each one of my batteries discharge 300 amps a second for 10 minutes.

Isn't it a bit redundant to say 300 amps a second since amperage is just a measure of current. Therefore, 300 amps would be constant for the entire 10 minutes. Yup.

so how much money do you have in batteries.

What is the benefit to the electrical upgrades?
